Are you looking for an appetizer for 4th of July that’s different and unique? Oysters are amazing when it comes to the variety of things you can do with them flavor wise. You can top them with all sorts of things from spinach artichoke dip to breadcrumbs to something semi-homemade like crab cakes which I’m sharing today.
Our local HEB started selling pre-shucked oysters. Don’t forget to ask the departments for things like this. They want to help you out and find items there’s a market for. You can make your own crab cakes or you can use premade ones like this:
I took these premade ones and broke each crab cake in half then reshaped them and topped them on each oyster.
Once you have them ready you can bake or grill per the directions until they are cooked though. I chose to grill mine, mostly because we like the grilled flavor that is added.
