I love when my best friend has me watch her kids. Secretly I like to have them help me out with crafts or cooking projects since my son isn’t old enough yet. It’s a lot of fun and makes me feel like a kid in the kitchen with them.

They each got to dye their own eggs so it kept the fighting down since they had equal work to do on their own eggs. What I did was boil eggs like you normally would for deviled eggs. Once they are cooled, peeled and yolk scraped out, I made smaller cups of water and added food coloring to water. Each of the kids dipped them in the water and then placed them on the paper towel. We learned that it makes a cool design on the eggs if you let them dry on the top part down. They also did half and half colors and mixed them in layers too.

Once the eggs drained and dried a little I mixed up the filling and let them pipe it in. I thought it was a lot of fun and it also got them to eat something that was a different color and learn that it’s the same thing, that just because it looks funky doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing.
