I recently had a chance to visit Ramble Creek Grill and fell in love with the food. They have weekly specials that rotate around so be sure to check them out. Since I had a lunch meeting and it was on a Wednesday we just got a variety of appetizers for 50% off and that was plenty of food.

Ok so first up the Boudin & Cheese Egg Rolls 12.99 (Boudin inside of egg rolls sliced into six pieces. Served with spicy ranch.) I’m a Cajun grill so this was either going to be good or bland for me. Luckily the owners like spice the flavor was right on for the boudin I like. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the cheese added, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised I liked it. I think it kept the boudin from drying out and gave you another texture in the dish. The spicy ranch had a little too much kick for me and really over powered the eggrolls.

Fried Okra 6.99 (Served with our signature spicy ranch.) You can’t beat hot fresh okra. You got a really good amount too.

Ramble Bites 14.99 (Filet medallions wrapped in Bacon and drizzled with our Bleu Cheese Bourbon Cream sauce infused with Rebecca Creek Whiskey. Served with dirty rice.) For me this was a winning dish! The filet was cooked perfectly, the meat was tender and flavorful and the sauce…ohhhh I love the sauce! There’s a subtle bleu cheese flavor and perfectly balanced with the whiskey. I probably would have licked the plate if I wasn’t in the middle of a meeting!

Ramble Empanadas 10.99 (Deep fried empanadas filled with chicken, garlic and fire roasted pico and bell peppers. Served with jalapeno cilantro ranch.) Again I didn’t know what to expect with empanadas, I love them, but they are so hit and miss when eating out so when they said you have to try it, I had to try it. The pastry is so light and flaky and the filling was a perfect balance of meat and peppers.

Broccoli Cheddar Cornbread Combo 12.99 (Broccoli cheddar cornbread served with your choice of award winning chili or soup of the day) So the photo below of the cornbread is only half! It’s a HUGE portion! We tried the gumbo and it was full of flavor and hunks of meat. I loved that it wasn’t watered down and no meat except 1 tiny shrimp lol.

I can’t wait to go back and try some of the other main dishes! This is a hidden gem for sure!!
