I’m delighted we finally got to try Big Paulie’s! We originally tasted one of their meatballs at a local food festival and it was to die for. I usually like to give a new place some time to make adjustments and work out kinks before going so we made our way over to give them a taste!

The location is easy to get in and out of. The dining could be a smidgen bigger, but they also offer take out.

One of their items I highly recommend ordering is their Fried Mozzarella $10 (6 FRESH MOZZARELLA MEDALLIONS HANDBATTERED AND FRIED TO A GOLDEN BROWN. SERVED ON A THIN LAYER OF MARINARA). The fresh cheese pull on these puppies are amazing!! The cheese just melts in your mouth and keeps you wanting more!

Next we ordered the Homemade Meatballs $10 (3 OF OUR HOMEMADE MEATBALLS COVERED WITH MELTED PROVOLONE CHEESE AND SERVED IN OUR MARINARA SAUCE). It’s hard to find good meatballs. I was a little worried that these where so large they might be dried out, but no worry here they where super moist and flavorful. My son gobbled them up!

D went with one of his favorite Italian dishes the Chicken Parmesan $15 (TOPPED WITH OUR HOMEMADE MARINARA SAUCE & FRESH MOZZARELLA ON A BED OF SPAGHETTI & MARINARA). He subbed the fettuccine with the spaghetti and it was a perfect dish. They use the same fresh mozzarella as the fried cheese so you get that great cheese pull with the chicken.

My son ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo $11. Again can’t go wrong with this dish. The garlic bread was nice and hot and soft. One of my pet peeves is getting rock hard garlic bread.

I ordered the Chicken Picatta $15 (LIGHTLY BREADED CHICKEN BREAST AND ANGEL HAIR PASTA TOSSED IN OUR LEMON BUTTER WINE CAPER SAUCE). It was ok, but didn’t wow me like the other dishes. The sauce was ultra light so just tasted more like fresh lemon juice squeezed on. I think next time I would pass on this dish.

Since we where there to celebrate we ordered the Chocolate Explosion Cake $8.95 (A chocolate cake shell holds a volcano of chocolate mousse studded with nuts, chocolate chips and turtle cheesecake cubes, finished with chocolate curls, sliced almonds and golden caramel oozing from the center.) All I can say on O….M…..G….. although this looks ultra rich and heavy it really isn’t. It’s just the right amount of chocolate flavor mixed with cheesecake and caramel. Highly recommend this dessert!

Overall we loved this place. I really hope they are here for the long haul, because they have a great place with just the amount of options, yet keeping their flavors spot on. Can’t wait to go back!
