If you have never made pralines before, they are super easy to make. I used to think candy making was something I could never do, but it’s not as bad as I thought. You do want to make sure you don’t make candy on a rainy day because the dampness in the air will make you candy stay mush and not harden like it’s supposed to.
Pralines
1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
1 cup broken pecan pieces
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoons butter
Combine first 4 ingredients and cook until a firm ball stage. Take from heat and add vanilla and butter. Drop from a spoon on waxed paper. Let stand until firm and dry.
I've made them and love them…..have to stay away from them cause I can't keep my hand out of them.
