In April 2010 I had gotten to meet Giada at her book signing (click HERE for details) and luckily this year I got to meet her again yesterday. I’m just glad I didn’t look at her with big eyes at tell her how pretty she is again! This time I asked her what it is she’s always wanted to learn to make herself. (example: home made cheese or pasta). Her response was Indian food, she’s only made it once or twice, but she would love to master the Indian cuisine.
The only thing I wish she could do is pose for a picture with you an maybe sign additional items (I will see her on the street at some point and get my apron signed!!!). I know she has to keep people moving along, and William Sonoma I thought did a good job at setting up a large enough area right in front of her to take pictures.
Here’s a few things they passed out while we stood in line. I’ve also included recipes in case you want to make them yourself.
Ginger-Tea Lemonade (Click HERE for recipe) OMG this stuff is addicting. I think my mother in law and I had at least 5 cups of this stuff! We both concluded it would taste good hot or cold (they served it chilled). Normally this isn’t something I would have seen the recipe and ran home to make it, but honestly I would make it now!
Arugula Pesto, Ricotta, and Smoked Mozzarella Pizza (Click HERE for recipe)
And of course something sweet! Double Chocolate and Espresso Cookies (Click HERE for recipe) These little jewels where also really yummy. I think I’ll be making them in my Christmas baskets this year.
Right as we where about to leave her sister showed up. Isn’t she a doll? She’s just as pretty in person as Giada is!
Such a fun day and she’s sooooo sweet to talk to in person! Can’t wait for more books to come out.
She is a beautiful lady and I like watching her cook. I bet she's a real pleasure in person.
