It amazes me how you can make lots of different foods for a party and the one thing that’s the biggest hit with everyone is Jell-O! I make layered Jell-O at Christmas time (Click HERE for details) which always gets rave reviews, but you can do this for any holiday.
The recipe below uses the 3 ounce packages, but I doubled it which made 13 dessert cups. Be sure you cool each mixture before you layer them otherwise you melt the previous layer and the colors start to mix. I forgot about that and my white layer turned a little greenish from the blue.
Red White and Blue Jell-O
(www.findinginspirationinfood.com)
1st layer – 1 (3 ounce) package blue Jell-O, mix according to directions. Pour into a 9"x9" dish. Chill until set.
2nd layer – 3 ounces cream cheese, 1 (3 ounce) box of lemon Jell-O dissolved in 1 cup hot water then add only 1/2 cup cold water. Cool a little before layering on blue.
3rd layer – 1 (3 ounce) package red Jell-O, mix according to directions. Pour over white Jell-O.
That's a pretty and perfect dessert for the 4th of July!
